Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse for our location in Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area.
Department Description: Wilson Health's Critical Care Unit is a 7 bed Intensive Care unit that caters to patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries, which require constant, close monitoring and support from specialist equipment and medications in order to ensure normal bodily functions.
Employment Status: Part-Time
Hours: 24 hours a week (48 hours per pay period)
Shift: 3rd shift (7pm-7am)
Position Reports to: Nurse Manager
Job Summary: The Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for providing assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, teaching, and supervision. They also provide collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, family and significant other. The Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law and ethics. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Makes an assessment of and determines the total nursing needs of assigned patients.
- Formulates a comprehensive nursing plan of care for the critical care patient and collaborates in the overall master treatment plan of patient care.
- Implement a plan of care based on assessment data as well as a sound knowledge base.
- Assist patient and significant other/family member to obtain knowledge regarding their disease processes and self-care utilization of proper resources.
- Provide functional work directions to other nursing personnel, such as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Health Unit Coordinators (HUC), and Patient Care Technicians (PCT).
- Provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of each human being.
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree Nursing Program. BSN required or must be obtained within five years of hire. One to two years of medical-surgical experience preferred.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
- Current Ohio State license as a Registered Nurse required.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support.
- RN's are required to have rhythm analysis and ACLS within 12 months of hire.
