Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire Skilled Maintenance for our location in Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area.

Employment Status: Full Time

Hours: 40 hours a week (80 hours per pay period)

Shift: 2nd: 2:30pm-11pm

Position Reports to: Maintenance Manager  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE:

Performs special tasks as assigned, (i.e., snow removal, emergency and routing repairs). 

Performs building check as required and has understanding of operation of equipment being checked.

Performs preventive maintenance to schedules and quality of P.M. guide.

Performs floor calls in timely and courteous manner.  Replaces faucet washers, plunge drains, and operates drain cleaning equipment properly.  Trouble shoots and repairs patient beds.  Performs electrical checks on patient equipment.

Effectively presents information and responds to questions from managers, staff members, patients, patient families, and the general public.  This would include the following age groups: pediatric, adolescent, young-middle aged adult and geriatric.

 

MAJOR PLUMBING:

Performs extensive plumbing system repairs and new installations as assigned.

Demonstrates proficiency in pipe threading, fitting, soldering, and brazing.

Demonstrates knowledge of portable water treatment systems, water heating devices, vacuum breakers, booster pumps, and loop.

Demonstrates ability to work from plumbing blueprints.

 

MINOR HVAC:

Demonstrates basic knowledge of HVAC/Refrigeration principles.

Demonstrates ability to perform minor repair and adjustments of system and controls.

Demonstrates knowledge of closed and open loop water treatment systems.

 

MINOR ELECTRIC:
Familiar with and demonstrates ability to work safely with 110V circuits and wiring components.

Demonstrates ability to use test instruments such as multimeter, amprobe, and current leakage test meter.

Ability to install 110V branch circuits, running conduit, pulling or wire, chooses proper wire sizes and devises branch circuits.

 

MINOR CARPENTRY:

Familiar with basic building and materials both hand and power tools, and power woodworking equipment.  Demonstrates ability to work safely.  Demonstrates ability to assist carpenter or other assigned personnel with major projects.  Ability to build walls, install doors, hang drywall, and perform minor wood-working projects.

 

MINOR REFRIGERATION:

Demonstrates ability to properly diagnose and perform minor refrigeration repairs.

Demonstrates ability to properly add refrigerant charge to small refrigerators and water coolers. 

Demonstrates ability to work safely with basic refrigeration tools and refrigerant.

 

MINOR PAINTING:

Familiar with all types of commonly used paints and wood finishers.

Demonstrates ability to apply paints and stains in a neat and professional manner. 

Demonstrates ability to properly care for brushes, rollers, trowels, etc., used in conjunction with a project.

Performs additional duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: 

Works with power tools, construction tools, jack-hammers, electrical equipment, boilers, freezers, and misc. moving equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to electrical shock and vibration.  The employee works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  There are some occasions where the noise level would be loud and very loud.
